Lost are the golden days of childhood,
In darkness and vain
Never did I realise what I could have gained!
The childhood was when
The only thing hurt was a bleeding toe,
But now it is the heart.
The only thing that mattered
Were presents,
But now it is the peers.
The highest achievement was
Mother’s soft kiss
But now it is money
When success only meant
Having a beautiful pencil,
But now all these seem funny.
Gone are those days of childhood
Hearing me with a feeling of lost.
Oh! How I long and wonder for them
Wishing only if they could to me at any cost.
